Be Flexible

Don’t be rigid, having a form, being crystallized. Once you are rigid and formed as a rock, you appear as a target, one can easily knock you off. Don’t often think you have all the answers; you cannot do it all, or know it all. Once you get set in your ways, you are part of history.

To get more from this life, you must keep your options open, be more open minded and flexible. You must be ready to “flow-in” when things don’t go the way you like, remember a times things do change even when you least expect it.

The moment you are established in a fixed pattern, you are setting yourself to be knocked down. I guess one need a close and sober examination at your beliefs and thoughts.

You must look life not as an enemy but as a friend, ready to get along or flow with it. If you are flexible, you will be happy and have inner peace, but if you aren't life is going to get tough.

Looking closely at our lives, we seems to have set patterns; we like to label ourselves as this or that and quite proud of our beliefs and opinions. We like to do the same thing every day; same places, same TV pro-grammes, go to the same shops, eat the same foods, wear the same clothes. But all these are cool, but we should open ourselves more to other opportunities if not we become boring.

We must see life as series of adventures. Each adventure is an opportunity to have fun, learn something new, explore the world, network, and broaden our horizons.

The moment we are offered an opportunity to have an adventure or do something we haven’t done before, or to change our thinking, I guess we should just go for it and see what happens.  At first it may scare us but later we will often learn and do something we've not done before.

But then again, here is a something you have to know: it isn't every opportunity that you just go and dive in. the really thoughtful flexible thinkers know when to say “no” and when to say “yes.”

One last note: consider the rock; it is solid, hard, firm seems unmovable but with gradual breakage it can be destroyed. Consider water looks soluble, often takes the form of where it finds itself but it is one of the most powerful forces on this planet. Why not be like water and appear formless?

  1. Good food for thought. Sometimes it really does help to step out of one's routine.
